Our Beliefs

About GOD

  • We believe that there is only one true God who has revealed Himself in three persons: the Father, the Son, (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. He is the creator, sustainer, and controller of all things and can be known personally through Jesus Christ, His Son.

About JESUS CHRIST

  • We hold that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, sinless, and perfect. Jesus is both fully God and fully man.  We believe that He not only taught the truth and demonstrated the power of God in miracles, but also died on a cross as a payment for all sins for all time, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sent the Holy Spirit to guide the Church.

About the HOLY SPIRIT

  • We believe that, by the grace of God, the Holy Spirit — the third Person of the Godhead –dwells in every believer. He provides the Christ-follower with a growing understanding of biblical truth, daily guidance, and the power to become Christ-like. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit and all of the Gifts of the Spirit are still active in the Church today, equipping and empowering believers to effectively strengthen the Church as well as reach and minister to a lost world.

About the BIBLE

  • We believe the Bible is God’s inspired word, the authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for all Christians. The Scriptures are divinely inspired and authoritative. We hold that the Scriptures, along with the power of the Spirit, are God’s main means of guiding and strengthening the believer. The Bible is truthful and inerrant, not affirming anything contrary to fact and contains all of the words that God intended to be known for salvation.  The Bible is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that all Christians may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

About HUMANKIND

  • We believe human beings are created by God in His image, to be like Him in character and with Him in relationship.  Humans chose to sin by rebelling against God’s ways. This rebellion caused humankind’s spiritual death and resulted in complete separation and alienation from God. We believe that human beings in their fallen state are sinners, lost, undone, without hope, and in need of a savior.

About SALVATION

  • When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, He forgives our sins, frees us from guilt and shame, and transforms our hearts. We believe salvation is God’s free gift of redemption to us, entirely by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works or human effort. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty and will spend eternity with God.

About SANCTIFICATION

  • A person who has experienced salvation is united with Christ in His death and resurrection, having put sin behind them and being free from its power. At the moment of salvation, the believer is justified, or made right with God, and is adopted into God’s family, and the process of sanctification begins. Sanctification is the cooperative process between God and the new believer whereby the believer progressively becomes freer from sin as explained in the Scriptures and increasingly resembles the example of Christ.

About ETERNITY

  • We believe people were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
